Overview

Mission: The Supervisor Packaging Operations will be responsible for overseeing product packaging activities (blister packs, bottles, boxes, wallets, visual inspection) in compliance with GMP/cGMP regulations, hygiene rules, and safety standards. They will ensure adherence to the established production plan while conforming to procedures defined by the site's quality system. They will also be in charge of supervising operators and technicians working in packaging.

Qualifications

 

Experience / Education:

  • Initial education level equivalent to Maturité and 10 years of experience in pharmaceutical production.
  • 5 years of management experience.

 

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • Thorough knowledge of GMP/cGMP environments and a good understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, particularly in solid form packaging.
  • Perfect mastery of French and good understanding of English (level B2).
  • Versatile, organized, rigorous, and a good communicator with excellent interpersonal skills for teamwork.
  • Natural leadership, able to share expertise, technical knowledge, and experiences to develop the team.
  • Good managerial skills.
  • Proficiency in basic computer tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to use them as support during presentations; good knowledge of an ERP.
  • Proactive in work organization and capable of implementing improvements using Lean tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate activity progress and any encountered problems.
  • Ability to implement continuous improvement projects in collaboration with support departments.
  • Sense of responsibility.
  • Project management skills.
  • Ability to give presentations to a group.
  • Knowledge of various packaging processes.
  • Willingness to share knowledge and train new hires and operators on different packaging equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Plan work and supplies.
  • Convey and explain work instructions.
  • Train or ensure the training of employees on procedures.
  • Assign workstations, animate and coordinate the team's work.
  • Intervene in case of technical difficulties, making necessary adjustments (with support services if needed).
  • Operate packaging lines in the absence of regular operators.
  • Maintain team cohesion and motivation.
  • Propose and implement improvements in work organization.
  • Review packaging records before Quality Assurance review.
  • Have a thorough knowledge and mastery of operating various packaging lines.
  • Write necessary technical documents for equipment operation (usage instructions, cleaning procedures, etc.) and other documentation needed for packaging operations.
  • Open deviations in the quality information system and follow up to ensure timely closure.
  • Execute and follow up on CAPA actions in the quality information system.
  • Participate in the validation of the production plan in collaboration with logistics.
  • Ensure the execution of packaging operations for industrial batches in a GMP environment, adhering to the established schedule.
  • Ensure compliance with hygiene, environmental, and safety (EHS) rules and guidelines.
  • Control, record, and complete pre-established work documents to ensure tracking of operations performed (batch records filled out according to GMP).
  • Participate in the qualification/validation of packaging equipment.
  • Maintain performance indicators at the packaging lines and communicate them to the teams.
  • Act as the MES expert for approving new recipes and packaging routings (Celservice ticket).
  • Be the main contact for internal audits in the area.
  • Manage projects.
  • Promote continuous improvement and LEAN within the team.
  • Maintain a healthy and safe work environment for personnel in controlled areas, ensuring compliance with rules and legislation.
  • Collaborate with EHS to assess risks and perform risk analyses.
  • Ensure that personnel (including temporary and short-term contracts) are properly informed about risks and trained to act accordingly.
  • Promote safe behaviors and practices, ensuring EHS rules are implemented and followed.
  • Immediately report all incidents and near-misses to the EHS department, participate in investigations, and identify preventive measures to avoid similar accidents in the future.
